The 12-organ flows are grouped into the face, toe, chest, and finger flows. Face flows (stomach, gall bladder, and bladder) help to bring energy out of the head, nourishing the rest of our bodies, calming the mind, and soothing the spirit.
Last night, I woke up around 2:30am with racing thoughts. I simply could not relax. It wasn’t exactly a fearful feeling, but of a feeling of being overloaded. I remembered that stomach flow (which aids descending energy in the front of the body) helps to calm thoughts and still the mind. So I practiced it on both right and left sides and also tried a 1 flow on the right side to help more with descending energy.
It took a little while, but eventually I relaxed enough to go back to sleep. I woke up feeling much clearer than I had felt before I went to bed. I think I will practice stomach flow BEFORE bed next time!
