I’ve struggled with insomnia off and on for many years, and I’ve finally found a philosophy that works for me. I assume that if I’m not sleeping, there is a good reason, because my body is wise. So I turn on the light and look at my Jin Shin Jyutsu books to see which flows are resonating with me. I work on myself until I feel relaxed enough to sleep again, which inevitably happens, although it may take 1-2 hours of work.
In my mind, I’ve cleared out blocks that I needed to clear out anyway, and I had a bunch of extra time to do it! So I don’t feel defeated by insomnia, even if I’m still tired the next day because I didn’t get the total hours of sleep that I needed. It seems like my body always catches up eventually.
